Making Your Symbian Set Faster
SYMBIAN OS ON SERIES 60 PLATFORM IS BIT SLOW B’COZ OF LOW ON BOARD MEMORY.HERE ARE WAYS TO FASTEN IT UP.
1st procedure : Set the log duration as shoert as possible.
1. Go to Main Menu -> Log.
2. Click Options -> Settings -> Log duration.
3. Set Log duration to “1 day” only or No log….Log contains the missed calls, incoming calls, and other such information about mobile so it works on backgrouind to save thgis info.
As standard, it is set to 30, but by changing this setting your phone will suddenly become a lot faster.2nd way : Open The most used application for ever similar to tray on taskbar of PC (Win xp)
Suppose there are some applications you mostly use and want them to open fast. Let’s suppose Gallery,Calaender…….
1) Open Gallery and then instead of Pressing exit press the red button at right to come out. Then do the same for Log, ToDo, Notes, Gallery and Contacts(now apps are n’t stopped actually..rather they are in hidden mode.)
2) Now try to open any of these   again by pressing menu  Key for a long    time and then that  app will be visible there..click there to open and  now you’ll see dat it’s faster
3) Thepoint is that don’t completely close the application that you want to open fast with the exit button. Instead, hide it with the red button.
4) You dont even have to go inside the menu to open these application. Press the menu button for longer time then it’ll do.You can select the app there and click to open faster.
But note that for some high memory consuming applications like mp3 players, video players,Games etc. don’t do this stuff..you’ll be in trouble….if u have done it by mistakenly then open them in the Long menu key way and close normally by exit option.
Other things that we can do to fast-up our s60 mobile is to use the default operator logo provided by our network service provider like BSNL.If we set other files as logos then little slower as u’ll see that it toggles between your logo and default logo when u perform any activities.
Also delete any messages in out box if they don’t send to reciever due to some faults. Better save in drafts. But kepping those deffered messages in outbox will always try to send keeping your mobile busy.
Don’t use Real One Player to listen songs (audio) in mobile.It may screw-up u’r mobile.better use Viking Mp3 Player or Symbian ogg play software for songs.
Always properly close the 3d games after you play ekse they’ll be running in hidden mode…consume more RAM . You can stop these by Long Menu Key Pressing method.(above)
