INSTALLING SOFTWARES SIS & JAR FILES VIA MMC CARDREADER
Heres the complete way to install softwares into mobiles with mmc card reader inn pc and mmc card of your series 60 mobile.Software’s installations are mainly of sis or jar files.
1st remove the mmc card from mobile and insert into the mmc card reader connected to pc. A new drive will appear for that mmc card.
Open this drive and create a newfolder say “setups” there.(remember this folder)
Now put (copy-paste) all the sis and jar (installation files) in this newfolder “setups” .Then remove the mmc card from cardreader an insert into mobile.
Now in mobile (symbian sets) use a filemanager software like seleq go to that folder where you have put all the sis and jar filles(”setups” folder).
The path of that folder is now E:/setups if you have put all the sis and jar filles in “setups” folder in the mmc card. So using seleq go to E:/setups where you will find all the sis and jar files you put there. Click on the jar or sis file then it’ll ask save then click yes and installation is started, then follow instruction.
(you can craete any folder in mmc card and put sis n jar files there..but u need to remember dat folder and in mobile using seleq go to that folder via E:/that folder where E drive represents MMC card in mobile n seleq)
But after installation finishes delete that sis and jar files in the setups folder as they are of no more use and are already installed an will waste our space.
This is not the best method for transferring small files. For large files it’s recomended.
For smaller files bluetooth is recomended.
